Based in Somerville, Massachusetts, Eagle Eye Institute is dedicated to developing and disseminating innovative environmental education programs that transform the lives of urban youth through hands-on exploratory learning on the environment and career bridging to natural resource fields. Eagle Eye Institute strives to make the natural environment more accessible to urban people with a focus on urban youth.

Since its inception in 1991, Eagle Eye's programs have introduced many thousands of multi-ethnic youth from community organizations in Greater Boston, the Northeast region and other parts of the country, to natural environments.

Brief Eagle Eye Overview

• In 2010, Eagle Eye launched the E.A.G.L.E Initiative to reach out to Tufts University students in order to engage their spirit, energy and passion for the environment as Champions in our Learn About programs.
• From 2005 through 2009, Eagle Eye Institute partnered with The Trustees of Reservations and YouthBuild U.S.A., for the Green Industry Career Pathway program to bridge the gap between urban young adults and natural resource professions.
• Eagle Eye Institute incorporates its 3-tiered model for social change into all of its programs:
  • Environmental learning to build awareness
  • Stewardship to develop responsibility
  • Career bridging to cultivate leadership
• Eagle Eye Institute has trained Champions across the nation to provide their signature Learn About Forests programs for urban youth.
